Always B Smiling and Casey's Clubhouse (formerly Miracle League of the South Hills) Join Forces in the Pittsburgh Marathon

We are thrilled to announce our partnership between Casey’s Clubhouse and Always B Smiling, joining forces to create even more amazing opportunities for kids and adults with special needs in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Together, we are expanding our adaptive stroller marathon program, allowing 8 athletes to participate in the 5K and another 8 athletes to achieve the remarkable milestone of becoming marathoners.
Through our "Run for a Reason" program, runners of all levels can support this initiative. As a registered charity with P3R and the Pittsburgh Marathon, participants on the adaptive stroller relay teams can dedicate their race to raise funds for the athletes of Casey's Clubhouse and Always B Smiling. Proceeds will benefit our athletes and programs, helping us continue to provide inclusive experiences and unforgettable moments. "Run for a Reason" team members will receive monthly updates with fundraising tips, contests, and exciting events leading up to the big race. We look forward to seeing our community come together in support of our athletes as they strive for greatness, both on and off the field. All money raised from the Pittsburgh Marathon Adaptive Stroller Relay Teams will be divided between Casey's Clubhouse and Always B Smiling! Your run will support two great organizations. |
1. CHOOSE YOUR RACE
Select the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay team. If you are the captain, select captain and proceed. If you are not the captain but joining the team, select relay participant and enter the code from the captain. 2. PICK A CAUSE Scroll through the charities to find Miracle League South Hills/Casey's Clubhouse 3. FUEL YOUR RUN WITH PURPOSE As you sign up for your race, opt to join the Run for a Reason Charity Program. This marks the beginning of your journey as a champion for change. With every stride, you will be raising funds that support your chosen charity's mission. 4. RALLY SUPPORT. RAISE FUNDS. IGNITE IMPACT. Share your commitment with friends, family, and colleagues. They will see the fire in your eyes and the purpose in your run. Harness the power of your network to magnify your impact. 5. GET REWARDED Once you hit the minimum, you will be reimbursed your entry fee, so you run for FREE and you raised a bunch of money for the kids! Win/Win! |

Meet Destiny, a young athlete with a radiant smile and a zest for life. Born with special needs, Destiny had always watched marathons from the sidelines, her heart swelling with a dream to one day cross the finish line herself. It seemed impossible—until now.
Last year, something incredible happened. Casey’s Clubhouse and Always B Smiling joined forces to begin their adaptive stroller marathon program. With this new partnership, 6 athletes like Destiny participated and took on the challenge of a full marathon. Destiny, filled with hope and excitement, trained with her 5 relay team runners and became a marathoner. The program allows people of all running levels to turn their passion for fitness into something even more meaningful. Whether they're running the full marathon, half marathon, relay, adaptive stroller relay, or the 5K, every participant can choose to raise funds for Casey’s Clubhouse/Miracle League of the South Hills and Always B Smiling, empowering athletes like Destiny to live their dreams. |

How Can You Join Our Team?
1. Visit our Pittsburgh Marathon Race Roster page: Click HERE or Button Below
2. On the right hand side, Click Register for event
3. Create and account and pick your race event
4. Chose the option to be a charity runner: confirm your charity as the Miracle League of the South Hills/Casey's Clubhouse
5. Complete the registration form and pay for your race (once you meet your minimum fundraising amount, your registration will be reimbursed)
6. Done!! – the process automatically generates a fundraising page for you
7. The fundraising page is what you can share with your friends and family to collect donations for your race. Feel free to share it via email/text/social media. You can also collect cash or check donations, but those will have to be delivered/mailed to either the Casey's Clubhouse/Miracle League of the South Hills office or to Kristin at the Always B Smiling office. We will then credit your account as an offline donation.
*You will be reimbursed your registration fee once you have raised the minimum $ amount for your specific race making your race FREE and helping a lot of kids and adults with special needs in the process.

Recruiting Smiling Volunteers !

Always B Smiling is looking for a crew of smiling volunteers to help us create smiles during our scheduled fun events. We are looking for creative planners and smiling faces to help ensure the children have fun. Each participant will have a Buddee to assist them during the event. Please sign up if you are interested.
