"B" Independent addresses the need to develop independent life skills allowing our participants to become more active and have a meaningful contribution to the community. We do this through various pop-up programs that will offer hands on work experiences all along the Montour Trail.

The Special Barkery is a Pittsburgh-based business that makes homemade dog treats. With every sale made, they donate a portion of their profits to local non-profit organizations – including ours! Owner Breanna is a former Special Needs Teacher who has turned her passion for working with individuals with disabilities into a business that will help employ them!
This summer, Breanna will lend her time and talents to the team at Always B Smiling as our first pop-up B Independent program. Friday mornings a team of volunteers will work with our young adult program participants cooking and baking treats, packaging treats and selling them on the Montour Trail.
